I have to say that mortis is the most fun I have had playing the game, I don't even care about losing trophies after getting to 500 which is rare for me. I am going to be using what knowledge I have learned over the past month to put together the ultimate guide for mortis in showdown. Let's begin!
Know your damage: the #1 mistake I see new mortis' make is overestimating their power. You have one of the slowest reload speeds in the entire game so if you can't kill a brawler in 3 hits or less, you probably shouldn't engage.
Learn how to play like a scavenger: Mortis is an excellent scavenger, his quick movement speed allows him to steal power cubes when his shots are used wisely. He can quickly clean up fights and stay on the edges of the poison without getting annihilated by other brawlers.
Smoke Bomb: This is a more advanced technique that makes you take damage but it got me out of countless situations. Essentially you take a partially poison consumed rock and dash around the sides IN THE POISON to get to the other side, if aimed correctly it should only take 1-2k damage. This is an advanced technique but most players no matter the trophy range do not expect you to use this move. Be sure to know if you can sacrifice the health for it though.
Do not auto-aim: I'm going to keep this one short and sweet, only auto aim if there are no boxes and you are in the brawler's face. Your attack is how you move fast and auto aiming will only take you closer to the Shelly in the bush.
Pick your battles: You ideally want power cubes but as a high mobility brawler you have the ability to choose when you want to fight. If a Bull starts coming towards you do not just take the fight for 1 power cube, you can try to steal it from him but the higher you are the smarter they get. Overall use that move speed to get out of the situations that are bad or use it to dive in.
Movement speed interactions: Brawlers have different movement speeds than each other and so they are crucial to know when playing mortis. I will use simple numbers to explain how this works, everyone has a base 100 movement speed, every tank has a base 107 movement speed, and every assassin(Crow, Leon, and Mortis) has a base movement speed of 114. This means even if you are out of dashes as mortis you can outrun most of your fights, except for leon who is a fairly big threat. Use this knowledge wisely and know who you can outrun.
Your super is OP: If you get your super during a match then that can instantly put anywhere from 2500-3000 difference in health by itself if you fully utilize the life leech. This can allow you to take most fights except for the tanks and a higher power leon. This super also has a giant range that allows you to hit anyone in your path so you get double the healing if you fight a clumped up team. This is a very influential super you must use wisely.
TL;DR: Use your Insane movement speed to assassinate squishy brawlers and pick your fights. Meanwhile use your super with your attack to devastate most brawlers.
If you made it this far thanks for reading, this took awhile but I wanted to give some tips, feel free to ask any questions in the comments.
