Greetings Brawlers. I would like to take a moment to address what I feel like is a serious issue in Brawl Stars that will have a giant impact on players when full release takes place. Please take a look, leave feedback, and give support if you happen to agree.
I am Level 32, 1150t, member of Reddit Bravo, and a fairly hardcore player. I mostly play in groups, but as we've all experienced, there are times in which I have to solo if I want to play.
I believe there is a critical flaw in the matchmaking that exists in Brawl Stars today.
This has to do with mirrored/duplicate heroes. We need SC to do a better job of making sure that matchmaking does not allow for zero win condition games.
Let me give you an example. I'm not that great of a Barley player, so I want to play some solo games to level him up. I queue up solo and my team is Dynomike, and two more Barleys. The other team consists of a perfect composition (tank, dps, support), and our team has absolutely zero chance of winning.
When we queue up as a Band, we go into games with a winning composition. Right now the randomness of the matchmaking creates a much less enjoyable playing experience due to the fact that it will put duplicate heroes on a team and there is no consideration to whether or not it is even a legitimate composition.
Currently Bands CANNOT start a match with duplicate heroes, so why would matchmaking create a environment where you could literally go up against 3 of the same heroes. This not only doesn't make sense, but I imagine it's frustrating other players as well.
I am asking that you at least consider doing a duplicate hero check upon matchmaking. I understand if during limited release, there needs to be a more flexible matchmaking system, but I think this will make for a worse player experience if they continuously enter games in which they are on a team in which zero win conditions exist. I'm not suggesting that you provide a "perfect" composition with every matchmaking session, but I do think it's appropriate to say, "If X character already exists on this team, then do not add them to this game". I would be willing to sacrifice a few seconds of finding a decent match, than loading up and realizing our Crow, Dynomike, Dynomike team isn't going to cut it.
TL;DR: Supercell, please don't allow teams to have duplicate heroes in matchmaking (on either team). We can't do it in Bands, so why does it happen here?
