I was seriously fucking offended at Adrienne conflating Filipino cuisine with something more Vietnamese. Like, gal. Why the hell did you put your hand up if you don't know what the actual cuisine is. If she actually knew, she'd know how distinct Filipino cuisine is among South East Asia. Even a closer neighbour like Thailand has different flavour profiles to Vietnam. The ignorance was astounding to me. I sincerely hope she's tried Filipino food since then. It's the least she could do.
In a similar but slightly less offensive vein, did anyone else cringe at Tom saying fufu was like "a Ghanalese Gnocchi". First off, it's Ghanaian. And I don't get why he has to connect it to Italian cuisine when Eric can perfectly make his own analogies to something more familiar. Rubbed me the wrong way, but that's just me.
Anyone else recall any egregious cases of cuisine ignorance on the show?
