In the episode this week, after Tom & Co. take all the contestants out to eat at the āfamous 30-year old Italianā restaurant (with the owner), while enjoying some Saratoga Water (Duh), Tom says at the end:
āTHIS MEAL IS ON ME.ā
Annnnnndā¦ CLOSE-UP of the Wells Fargo card on top of a check from the restaurant. Give me a break! How many takes did he have to do?? That was the dumbest and most obvious sponsor-driven shit of the entire season. Obviously they need sponsors, but WTF? Why not just show the chefs swiping a card at Whole Paycheck???
Next thing youāll be telling me Snapple paid to be on Seinfeld.
Why would Tom be grumpy about a deal he made to pay for the show he makes? One that funds his lifestyle and prestige?
