Yeah, probably true. I think the downvotes are probably coming more from the fact that it wasnāt completely necessary to for the person above to throw out āobeseā vs people getting hurt that the bmi numbers would confirm it. I think the op was just highlighting the fact that thereās enough of a weight class difference, so to speak, that heās not worried about getting his ass kicked haha
Well, I think you stated the problem at the beginning of your reply. Even if itās a fact, the problem is more it didnāt need to be said. I know this is Reddit and all that, but the only real intention of calling someone fat or obese is to hurt them, outside of medical situations or whether they asked something like ādoes this height and weight mean Iām obeseā?
If the OP was relaying that story to me on the street and gave his weight and height, I wouldnāt say āoh, so youāre obeseā or whatever, itās just not necessary to say every little thing that pops into your head. I think the facts-over-feelings crowd often uses that to just be assholes in my experience. I have heard people classified as obese try to complain that doctors shouldnāt use that word, which maybe the facts over feelings situation would apply more thereā¦

That is true that punching those numbers into a BMI calculator yields that result. But BMI is definitely an over-simplistic formula that doesnāt take things like muscle mass into account. Not saying the guy above is competing in mr.Olympia or something, but it is still a bit flawed
