Most rematches I’ve seen are a result of a boxer being competitive or exciting in the first bout, despite losing. Or through rematch clauses. But when a contender loses badly or definitively they’re often out of the picture for at least a while and need to regain confidence or career footing, and only then may hope to earn another shot if the same opponent is still champion. I don’t normally see boxers get a rematch like this though and was looking for examples. When have you seen a boxer lose a match badly, then re-establish themself as a top contender, and fought a rematch? Bonus points if they won or did really well in the rematch.
