Not a single soul has the courage to man up and fight Shakur. Haney, Pitbull, and Zepeda all dodged him without even a second thought. The reason why is because of pure confidence that they will lose decisively to Shakur. Tank accepting a match with Shakur will be the worst decision of his life.

In the boxing ring, Shakur Stevenson is Tank's true archnemesis.

Tank has a history of feeling out his opponents by letting them have the first couple rounds and then swiftly forming counterplan to knock them out without remorse.

His Jaw is excellent. His explosive power is unparalleled to anybody else at 135, allowing him to knock out even the strongest of contenders within seconds of a precise flurry.

His footwork and fundamentals are essentially at the highest level available to man. Tank is one of the only men who can endure vicious onslaughts from the strongest of contenders such as Ryan Garcia, Frank Martin, Pitbull, etc, and brush it off like it's nothing.

Thanks to his rather short stature, he also extremely difficult to hit cleanly. He can weave most power punches and can fire back with precise, damaging shots.

Tank is an absolute monster. Nobody is denying that. He is quite literally, a "Tank".

But, he can't beat Shakur.

Tank can beat any other fighter at 135. But Shakur will upset him.

If you look at the facts, Shakur has beaten fighters around Tank's height before.

  • Oscar Valdez, 5'5

  • Toka Khan Clary, 5'6

  • Joet Gonzalez, 5'6

  • Viorel Simon, 5'5

  • Juan Tapia, 5'5

It's not a foreign experience for Shakur to be fighting guys around Tank's height and size. Tank's height will not be an asset against Shakur.

With Shakur's style of boxing, it's virtually impossible for Tank to get nice, solid shots on Shakur since he is he has a greater range advantage and he is always far, far away, ready to get out of there the first sign of trouble.

"You can't hit what's NEVER in front of you!"

Shakur has effectively made this statement into a reality, and has essentially become a joke in the boxing community for running around the ring for 12 rounds straight and not having the necessary power output to get his opponents out of there.

But it's worked for him for 22 matches straight, with not a SINGLE one of his opponents being able to find an answer.

He is completely healthy, and has yet to sustain any serious damage in the ring due to his very passive and patient boxing style.

  • His chin has yet to weather the storm, we have no clue how durable Shakur truly is, because again, he never gets hit.

  • He's never been on the ropes because he never gets hit.

  • He's never had to worry about getting knocked out because he never gets hit.

You see my point now?

Shakur is absolutely the worst opponent for Tank to face because there are virtually no flaws for him to exploit.

Shakur obviously doesn't care about putting on a show, he is just there to get the job done.

And Tank's patient, low output style that involves gathering information and reading his opponents will be the end of him.

With Tank's reach disadvantage, he'll obviously be susceptible to Shakur's jabs all night long. And that is a true problem, because we already know that Shakur doesn't care about dealing substantial damage to his opponents. He is just there for the win.

He will not try to knock out Tank. And he will not be aggressive like those other fighters who thought they smelt blood but got too greedy.

Shakur is fully equipped to win by points against Tank. As long as he stays patient, (Which we all know he will do) he will win the fight.

TLDR: Tank fighting Shakur will be a poor decision for his career. Shakur upsets tank.

They don't. They decide the purse split when a fight goes to purse bid which is what was about to happen in Shakur vs Haney because Shakur was the mandatory.

The WBC wasn't going to give Shakur 50/50. If Haney wanted the fight he could've waited for the WBC's decision and made the fight. He dropped his belt. It's the only time I've ever seen a mandatory criticised for using their mandatory status.

Activating your mandatory status to get a higher purse isn't a duck. This is one of the dumbest arguments I've seen on this sub recently.
