Maintaining performance shoes

Hi everyone,
I purchased the Dexter SST8s from my local pro shop yesterday. What a difference it makes from the $50 entry level shoes… wish someone told me earlier!
Just curious what kind of maintenance we are doing on our shoes. Do you take a wire brush to the bottom and keep them clean?
Just looking for some advice as I want to make sure they last as long as possible.
