I have a person that I support who uses a retractable handled ball. He has purchased a new ball and over the past few months the handle has broken many times. On the last occasion everyone was still scratching their heads as to the cause. While watching him bowl on the weekend I thought that I saw the handle retract slower than the other ball so I busted out the old slow mo camera on the iPhone and videos a few throws and saw that the handle in fact bounced!! It retractable the same speed as the others, just doesnโt stay retracted, which would explain how it has had some weird hits?
For those who know, how could this be fixed? Any diagrams of the handle design etc would be greatly appreciated so I can get me head around the mechanics of it. Link to a video of the handle bouncing (sorry for the slowness of it, but it is in slowmo for three pulls)
