Hey there! I heard that one can consider Boruto non-canon. Is that true?

Don't get me wrong I like Boruto. Just that I read somewhere that the author or maybe Kishimoto said that you can consider Boruto Canon or not. Is that true?
Edit : to be absolutely clear I meant the whole of Boruto, not just the anime only episodes but the manga as well
