I have been attempting Terra ever since I got my psycho through play-through 1. But I have never been able to kill him.

Until today.

I got Borderlands 2 back when it first came out. I started with Zero, and made it about halfway through the story before I set it aside. I really liked the game, it's just that I have issues with staying focused. When I saw that this new character was going to be released, it kind of gave me the kick in the ass that I needed to finish playthrough 1 with Zero. I got Krieg within a week of him dropping. Playing with Krieg was one of the most ridiculously fun things I'd ever done in a game. So I blame him for making me love this game. I love the other classes, as well, (I'm slowly taking all of my Vaulters up through OP8.), but I always return to Krieg, at the end of the day. A few months ago, I got Krieg through TVHM, and started thinking about branching out, before I took him further. It was right around this time that my best friend decided to pick up the game, so I had tons of fun bringing his Mechromancer, and my Commando, up through the first play-through, as well as the DLCs.

Now, recently, I decided to respec my lvl 53 Mania/Bloodlust Krieg into more of a Hellborn/Bloodlust build. I've been having fun with smashing things' faces in with massive amounts of elemental damage. I've just been kind of dicking around with Krieg, but I decided, on a whim, that I'm going to try NVHM Terra, with this new build. Krieg and Terra had met many times before. Always ending in my defeat. But I figured that I might have a chance with this new build.

It goes amazing.

I got through most of his health bar with very little problems. I went down one or two times, but my DPUH was good about killing tentacles, and my Kitten was always good for some quick health.

Things are going great. I get him down to about 15% health, and I start realising that I'm actually going to kill Terra. I'm getting super excited, and am totally immersed in the fight.

Then Terra puts me down, and he and his tentacles immediately peace out. And I bleed out.

It was really crushing to have come so close, and just miss it.

I'm now kind of dazed, and figure that I'll only do one more attempt, just to keep my sanity.

This time, it goes even better than the last. I had switched out a couple of items, and it made a serious improvement.

I get him down even lower than the first try.

And he downs me again. No tentacles or Terra in sight.

I'm freaking out, thinking that it was just a rehash of the first attempt.

Then Terra decides to stick his head out, at about half a FFYL bar.

I said a quick prayer to Adamformagic, and furiously unloaded my DPUH.

It was close. One of the closest FFYLs, I've ever had. But there was so much on the line.

And just before I black-screened, I got him.

I don't even know how to properly describe the pure rush that came from knowing that I actually overcame one of the biggest obstacles in the game, for me.

And it's moments like that, that keep me playing.
