A Golden Chest ate my rocket launcher.

So I sued a golden key on my lv50 character just to see if I could get anything good. I found a nice assault rifle, but my inventory was full, so I just held E to swap it with my rocket launcher, and the launcher fell on the chest's open space. Then the chest closed with my rocket launcher still on it and made the launcher disappear. Suffice to say I was fucking befuddled on how that could happen, it was a nice launcher, but I guess I'll just have to live with it.

Anyone else ever get some kind of weird glitch like that?
