I have kept a planted shrimp/snail tank for about 18 months and added 8 rasbora maculata about 4 weeks ago. (the local aquarium recommended 6 but having read this forum, I think I'll add some more.)

One of my rasboras has developed a white patch above its usual black side bit. I took him out of the tank to grab some photos and it almost looks like he's cut himself on something - is that the case, or do I have something more serious going on?

He's swimming happily with his friends and seems to be eating.

I would appreciate any advice.
