This doesn't apply to all of course, there are some 80-90 year olds that are absolute tech wizards.
But for the vast majority of boomers they put absolutely no effort into the most basic aspects of modern technology that it's laughable.
I could kind of understand at the start, around 2008-2012 smartphones were just becoming mainstream to pretty much everyone and it was a very elaborate new way of doing things, but it's been over ten years and boomers (and older) and the younger generations at the time all started learning on them at exactly the same time and in all honesty even though there are new features every year the basics really haven't changed that much since they were released.
The amount of times I've gotten questions or phone calls about: "How do I turn my data off/on" "Where are my settings" "What is mobile data again?" "How do I open my camera" "How do I post this to Facebook?" "My phone is acting weird/apps are missing since I let my toddler aged grandkids play on it unsupervised"
Etc. Etc.
I consider myself a pretty patient person but when you have to explain the same thing 9-10 every single year it gets on your fucking nerves and then they get frustrated with you for getting frustrated with them lol.
It's not just smartphones either, it could be any 2 second fix on a PC too or my personal favorite when a they download a show on the DVR and would rather fast forward through commercials when the same show is on one of the multiple streaming services they have ad and commercial free but they won't use it "because they're not into it."
Basically I've come to the realisation that it all boils down to a pure lack of effort/laziness, like I said I was a bit more compassionate when this technology was still new but it's getting just pathetic now.
