Tip credits
Post Body

Am opening up a new location that will be paying employees less than minimum wage and using a tip credit to make up for it.

Normally when I've dealt with tips it never touches the income statement, but we've never paid people less than minimum wage before.

Does the tip credit itself (~$5/hr) count as a wage that should appear on the income statement along with payroll or should we treat all tips the same as a liability?
