Freshbooks Expense Refund Project Tracking

I know there are two ways of doing expense Refunds: the long way and the short way (if you use bank rec, which I do). If I mark it as an expense refund in bank rec, is there any way, besides just the note section, to tie it to a project so it reduces the expenses for that project? I know I can do it using the long way, but it is just that: a long way.
