I have been an independent contractor bookkeeper for a few years and have created great relationships with all my clients. One client, client A, has expanded my role in to more administrative duties several times, all stuff I have been eager to take on. Client A has spent a good amount of time planning for how my role can expand further this upcoming year. I have very informally told them that I would be open to taking on more but no contracts have been presented and no concrete duties have been discussed. Well, another client, client B, has offered me a full-time administrative position for a salary and benefits that are enough for my spouse to be able to quit their job and become a full-time stay-at-home-parent and change our standard of living significantly. I'm going to take the position with Client B and I am telling all of my clients tomorrow, giving everyone 3-months notice. I'm trying to not leave any client high-and-dry and I feel I'm leaving everyone in a good position, but I am still feeling anxious about telling them I am resigning, especially client A. Any words of encouragement as I face this tomorrow would be greatly appreciated.
I would consider buying out your clients
