I know Preity isn’t the best of the best in terms of acting but she’s done a great job in the 10 year span 1998-2008 especially 2002-2007. I’ve rewatched a few films of hers in the past few weeks and what I come to realize is that she played some bold characters in films and majority of the characters she’s played have always been strong independent characters and within short a short period of time too. I love Salaam Namaste she’s in med school and also a radio jockey. And if you take away the extra comedy it’s basically about a live In relationship and baby out of wedlock. KANK deals with relationships and infidelity and she plays a fashion magazine editor. CCCC deals with surrogacy. Armaan she plays pretty much a villain or a very grey character. Lakshya she plays a reporter. Kya Kehna she plays a pregnant teenager balancing love and society. Dil Ne Jaise Apna Kaha she’s a Doctor. Let’s not also for get Veer Zaara, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Heaven On Earth and Dil Hai Tumhara. Preity really also worked with some of the top directors in a very short period. She definitely made a huge impact in Hindi films playing such strong independent characters back to back to back with only having done about 35-40 movies. She only have a handful of films where she was just there to sing and dance.
