Lump sum or DCA $180k into VTI
Post Body

Hello all,

I'm 23 with ~$220k investments in a mix of VTI, VXUS, and QQQM, crypto, and I have another $180k ready to go into VTI. I'm considering a DCA approach and deliberating between a 12-month and a 24-month investment period due to current economic conditions and market uncertainty. My intended hold period would be at least 20 years (if I can stick to it!)

Would love to get your take on:

  • Lump sum into VTI anticipating a bigger drop (e.g., 230); or DCAing regularly

  • Whether adding more to VTI is too narrow-focused.

  • Preferred DCA period (12 vs. 24 months) for VTI, in light of moderate growth but rising inflation and geopolitical concerns.

Grateful for any advice or experiences you can share!
