Drunk man at the corner shop told me I had a “horrible big nose”

Post Body

so my absolute biggest insecurity is my nose, a very common one to have I know but since I was about 5 years old I’ve always constantly felt like I have a really ugly nose, and everyone I’ve told about it has always told me in it’s my head etc etc tonight I was at the corner shop, and there was this guy that was clearly very very intoxicated near the till, as soon as I walked up he started saying multiple times how horrible my nose was, eventually the shop owner had to throw paper at him to get him to leave. I feel so hurt and humiliated, my first thought was that he has finally proved my insecurity right, this whole time it hasn’t really been in my head and he is saying what everybody else thinks but doesn’t have the courage to say. It sucks especially because I was having a really good day today, and I felt pretty for the first time in a while before this happened. How do I stop this from really hurting my already low confidence?

So I do have body dysmorphia about my face, but my nose is one of the things I surprisingly like. I have a big nose. It’s a Roman nose. I am so proud of it and would never ever ever get a nose job. When I was young, I used to want one though. A big nose does not make you ugly. It makes you look interesting. It’s your decision if you want to change it or not, but just know that most people find them attractive.
