I hate that men expect their partners to dress up.
Guys expect their female partners to send them cute pictures of themselves after she got your hair done or after she tried out a new makeup look
I refuse to do this stuff. I also don’t care or even want compliments about my looks.
Most comments about my body trigger my Body dysmorphia because I don’t believe it and even when I do I’m tired of having to focus on my looks and having my looks focused on.
Men walk around not putting in barely any effort into their look and people leave them alone.
I want to do the bare minimum and be ok with myself. If I feel pressure to impress others or my partner I keep thinking about the topic of beauty and I end up spiraling most time and feeling terrible.
Can anyone here relate? How do you deal with this pressure in a relationship?
Honestly, he cheated at the beginning of our relationship and it set my progress back years. I’ve been punishing him in tiny passive aggressive ways since. It’s so bad/ unhealthy and I’m only admitting it here because I feel safe. One of the ways is I dress up for my kids and family. But not him. My daughter loves when I wear pretty dresses and makeup because she’s 5 and only sees me as beautiful. Her father passed away. My son loves me no matter how rough I look. They deserve me at my best.
