About two years ago, after a lot of back and forth about our (lack of) sex life, my STBX told me that they no longer find me attractive due to my weight gain (about 40 lbs in a couple of years -- first gained during pregnancy, lost half, gained it back). I was devastated. I've struggled with body acceptance and eating issues my whole life and that statement sent me into a terrible spiral. Took a while, but I'm finally moving on and learning to love and accept myself as I am now. I know I'm not ready for a LTR for a while as I'm still healing from the end of that relationship, but there is a part of me that would love to have some NSA adult fun, since it's been a loooong time. Plus, I think being with someone who enjoyed and appreciated my body could be healing. But I'm terrified of another rejection. I know that there's no way to guarantee I can avoid rejection. Is it worth the risk? How have others navigated making their bodies available to another person in a completely vulnerable and intimate way when dealing with their own body issues?
