Submitting this early because of a thought which came to me which happened to coincide with 1 Nephi 19. In the sixth verse, we read:
Nevertheless, I do not awrite anything upon plates save it be that I think it be bsacred. And now, if I do err, even did they err of old; not that I would excuse myself because of other men, but because of the cweakness which is in me, according to the flesh, I would excuse myself.
Today, I had this thought come to my mind: While we cannot excuse sin, it is of necessity that we excuse the weakness upon which the sin was founded. If we did not, we could not forgive ourselves, and we also could not forgive others for the same weakness. Essentially, excusing our weakness allows us to see its potential...and by proxy, our potential, and move forward with faith.
