Crank shaft sensor and segment timing codes
Post Body

I have a 2001 bmw 325i and it was running fine and had caught fire last weekend on the passenger side given the fire was small . I replaced all the parts that got damaged including the valve cover, ignition coil harness, and the 02 sensor then the car ran but ran rough and had a code for crankshaft sensor so I replaced it with a new oe spec sensor. Since replacing the car takes very long to crank 4-6 seconds and will run but extremely rough and dies after a few moments of running. The codes Iā€™m throwing now are 53 DME: signal, crankshaft sensor and DME: segment timing, true running disturbed. I checked the fuse for the crankshaft before I replaced it. It was good not sure where to go from here. Car cranked long and ran roughish before the small fire but now runs little to none.
