Going to try to give a timeline:
- 5:20 PM-ish: Cops have parked in the parking lot of the Salvation Army in the 600 block of W Washington.
- 5:20 PM - 5: 46 PM: Over loudspeaker, the police state "This is the Bloomington Police Department. Occupants of 608 Apartment 2, exit now and follow the commands of the officers." This repeats over loop every thirty seconds or so.
- 5:47 PM - 6:08 PM: demand stopped. Heard noise from that direction, but couldn't define what was being said. Police are still across the street.
- 6:08 PM: Cops have returned to repeating the demand.
Not sure what's going on, but be safe out there.
Update 1: 6:15 PM. Got a good view out of the window between my apartment in my neighbor's apartment. The police are armed and, if BloNo had a swat team, this is what I imagine it looks like. My neighbor tried to go outside and the police noped him back inside.
Update 2: Back to silence. Cops still outside. Snapped a pic. Sorry for potato quality, but I didn't want to be that close to a window for too long.
Update 3: They've gone back to the loudspeaker. The demand is repeating more frequently than previously (even if it's automated.
Update 4:
- 6:35 PM - Loud clang
- 6:39 PM - The demands paused and someone yelled.
- 6:43 PM - Demands resume
Update 5: (7:31 PM) All officers still outside. They've now declared they have a search warrant.
Update 6: 7:58 PM - Police just yelled to unlock the front door.
FINAL Update: Cops are leaving. I thought one of them said the car in front might've had a gunshot. Didn't see anyone get arrested. We are free to leave out apartments. Traffic is returned to, pardon the pun, normal.
