Hello! :-)
I've been blogging for years on wordpress.com. At the time it seemed to have the best feature set for blogging from multiple platforms including Android. They have an official client that allows me to post and share content from my phone very easily.
I'm disappointed to see that pretty much them and Blogger are the only games in town for this purpose. :-/ I'm shocked that either there isn't much of a demand for robust mobile blogging tools or the blogging providers just aren't supplying the demand for it.
I love Substack and have been messing around on there for a while. They make it SO easy to publish a variety of content formats in a variety of ways. But there is a notable lack of mobile capabilities. I haven't even seen how to post content via e-mail gateway.
So does anyone have any recommendations for robust mobile blogging from Android that aren't WordPress or Blogger?
For the record, what I dislike about Blogger is that it isn't a very open platform and doesn't seem to add features very often. What I dislike about WordPress.com is that I feel like the performance isn't wonderful and paying for the professional package gives me a lot of stuff I don't need, but is required for what I do need, like a custom domain. I've considered going the self-hosted WordPress route but the mobile app is a huge reason why I would even use WordPress in the first place and it isn't clear to me that the mobile blogging capabilities of wordpress.com the mobile app transfer to self-hosted WordPress.
