Like all good blogging obsessives, I sit reading my stats everyday, and so I notice the trends of people linking to my images but not my page (presumably just copying a URL from google). My original solution to this was to ask them to remove the link, but now I simply slap my web address onto the image while replacing its original location. Free advertising for me on someone else's (potentially bigger) site.
Has anyone done similar, and seen any possible downsides to this? What approach do you take to dealing with hotlinking?
