Why is everyone leasing instead of buying? Never leased a vehicle before.

Post Body

Hello everyone, been lurking on here for about a month since I discovered I have to get a new car soon (issues with current vehicle) and after deciding I want an EV did my research and I'm going with a Blazer/Equinox unless some crazy better car or offer is available before the end of the year.

My question is, after being on this sub for a while, why is everyone leasing and I don't really see posts about great purchase offers or deals?

I found an RS AWD in a color and options I want nearby that's offering a dealer discount of ~$8500, which sounds really good to me and places it cheaper than comparable Equinox 3LT AWD I was originally looking at. But I see everyone posting lease deals, and while I get a big point is that technology will improve in 3 years you are basically paying to rent the car, at the end you won't own anything.

Idk, just wondering if there's something I'm not seeing or just don't understand?
