What's with the short comings of content for Blasphemous 2? Why did they not already implement a NG+ into the game? It's not that long or huge of a game considering it's 2d nature. Loved the game through and through but it's a little odd considering the NG+ they had for Blasphemous 1.

I know that the first games ng was dlc. I'm confused why they wouldn't already implement ng into the sequel.

As said elsewhere, it's likely that this game's NG also won't be a pure "enemies are harder now" deal. Also in this game they have to consider further things, partially because it's now a proper Metroidvania so they have to consider what is kept or not between runs.
Plus, balance was/is still being tested through player feedback and probably completion stat reviewing.

While some of FromSoft's games do implement a few new things in NG , most only change the stats around. While the baseline for Blasphemous' ascension was indeed just buffing enemies, they also implemented a new questline and special optional challenges.
