First a short story. Husband (41yo) diagnosed with bladder cancer (T3aN0M0) in diverticulum (pocket outside bladder) in November 2023.
December 2023 partial bladder resection and tumor removal surgery done. Tumor was successfully removed with clear “edges”. Biopsy results - partial low risk, partial high risk and Cis. Due to these results surgery wasn’t good enough according to docs.
➡️ Recommendations for the best outcome accelerated AMVAC chemo 3 rounds followed by robotic radical cystectomy with neobladder
ATM after 1 round of chemotherapy, next week second. 1 st round was surprisingly without much side effects (only sleeping a lot and bit stomach “on water” feeling). But from what I have read it may get worse with second?
We would like to ask everyone for experiences with neobladder especially if there is someone similar age.
How did it changed your life? How long till you could function normally? How’s incontinence? How’s erection? What are the biggest negatives for you? Or anything in general you would like someone told you before the surgery?
Thank you so much for every answer!
