The recovery in the hospital has had some bumps. Today a doctor asked my mom at 7am if she wanted to be discharged today. She is not ready. I found out and told them no. Unfortunately she has a hole in her intestine that needs to heal and a fistula or canal that leaks stool out of her incision. She is getting 3 shots a day in her stomach to try to close the hole. She has a cover over her incision that needs to be emptied and a catheter. So they want to see if I can do all those things. I think this is odd. I said I can’t give her shots. We can get someone a few days a week but not every day 3 times a day. And she gets an antibiotic pill. It’s overwhelming. I talked to the nurse and she said she thought was insane that they would discharge her. After that she feels like they aren’t doing every thing that they were like checking on her more. She was supposed to walk three times a day and she didn’t at all. Also, her catheter leaked and she woke up with her bed soaked. She has a neobladder. I don’t know how long recovery is but we are in the hard part.
