I understand this is probably most people's least concern in the new update, but I really like global chat because it makes it feel like there's people still playing the game.
I know you can see player-counts, but it's something else entirely to be able to talk to other players outside an in-match context.
With the removal of Whisper chat (which would also be nice) and the mail system, this gives you no ingame way to communicate with people outside of lobbies - a pretty major problem, in my personal opinion.
The global chat system, to me, sets Blacklight apart in a similar way (albeit less so) as the HRV does. You don't get it in other FPS games - and the fact it's here ISN'T a bad thing.
If it does still end up being removed, there should be another way to talk to people ingame - what that happens to be is up to the devs, but I want some way to talk to the person I just met in a match after I have to quit for a minute.
