The reason leaded gasoline was dangerous is because it caused lead to get into the air and people were breathing it in. Lead is usually only dangerous if you swallow it or breathe it in in a gaseous state.

We don’t still use leaded fuels, not in cars at least.

Landfills usually have protective layers on the bottom to prevent anything from leaking into the ground water. Also lead isn’t a huge concern for ground-water transmission, at least from trash. The main way lead gets into water is through plumbing pipes and fixtures.

Be less concerned about lead in things that will not harm your children, and more concerned about lead in things that are currently harming your children, (most likely house paint or pipes. Also don’t live near an airport)

Lead is also used in most if not all of the electronics in your house. Are you going to throw out all of those as well? Just because lead is in something doesn’t make it automatically dangerous, it’s what the lead is in that makes it dangerous. Solid Lead that doesn’t touch consumables, fine, lead in drinking pipes, not fine.
