...it just feels really incomplete in a lot of areas.
I mean this from a general software point of view. It's like, Bitwig has shortcuts, but it doesn't have shortcuts for everything. Even really basic things, which I don't quite understand.
Furthermore, the functionality is inconsistent across the app. A classic example is the device window. It seems to do very different things depending on where you are in the view, but not in an intuitive way.
In the session view it shows only clips and audio files, even if you're selected within a MIDI track. Which doesn't make sense, because you might want to insert an instrument or effect into that track.
In the effect bar at the bottom, if you click the plus button it'll have the devices tab selected, and the Audio FX category selected, which is annoying if you want to insert an instrument, cause you need to change it each time.
Furthermore, when you press the `b` shortcut, it shows the device window, only this time it's stuck on the Presets tab, instead of the Device tab like previously. So have to change that again if you want to select an instrument. Like, whyyyyy.
It's like, the software gets so much right in terms of innovation, but then drops the ball on really basic things.
Of course, feel free to convince me otherwise. I'm wanting to like Bitwig, but it seems incapable on a basic level.
