I love bitcoin and its creation was revolutionary and for all of us who recognized this early on has been handsomely rewarded with valuable coins. The ingenuity of everything regarding the blockchain was nearly inconceivable before 2008 and still rarely spoken about until even 2013. I stress all of this because i want to recognize the value that bitcoin has given the world that goes so much further beyond just another currency.
But 2017 has been clearly different. It's a new age because bitcoin didn't die or go away or fail and as the price of one bitcoin kissed the $5,000 equivalency watermark a stunningly number of coins are truly beginning to compete - like not dogecoin compete, i mean compete.
It's not a question of whether a global digital cryptocurrency will survive or fail anymore, it's a matter of who will have the global currency demand dominance, and corporations are throwing their weight behind other Altcoins.
Ethereum, Ripple, Monero, Bitcoin Cash, and dozens of other coins, with new ones launching every month, are not careless afterthoughts, billions of dollars are pouring into a variety of well-thought out competitors who had the chance to learn from bitcoin's revolutionary, albeit prototypical, run. It's not unreasonable to assume satoshi, now seeing their work in action, is thinking "if i could do it all over again...".
So with saying that- What's keeping bitcoin relevant in the coming years aside from its place in revolutionary history? I want to hear arguments from people who now know what it really takes to win this game of coins that bitcoin has begun.
(For fun, share any thoughts about other altcoins in comparison to bitcoin- this is a bitcoin dominant subreddit though so please keep that focus in mind when addressing this vast and exciting topic)
