Bitcoin to preserve weather, but also don’t fomo

Hey guys I’m a btc holder and my average price is 45k. My question is that I’ve heard a lot of both on this forum about the below two points.
That btc is meant to preserve your wealth/ not slowly bleed away from inflation etc.
But also I’ve seen cautionary posts not to “go all in” or Fomo in at the top.
It seems that if point 1 is true, then point 2 is irrelevant?
