if you give away property are you still responsible for the mortgage?

I inherited my son's life and he's made some stupid decisions, including a 200k mortgage on an 80k property 🤦🏽♀️
This property is just a drain on my assets but I'll only lose more money if i sell. If I give it away will I still be on the hook for the monthly payments/expenses?
