Please help

I have an Android but so far I haven't been able to enjoy ANY of the new features! First time I tried to be a bad ass to get into the Mafia, didn't work out so not sure if it's related...

But this is my third character who I have tried to make into a Singer/Band member. This particular character is now 18, fresh out of high school with 100% max on Voice & Guitar, and about 90% on Keyboard.

When I go under Special Careers the ONLY option is running for Political office! The other two characters (who were both maxed out on voice only) I tried for years to wait for something to pop up, and nothing happened.

Before I waste another character, please help. Is there some extra step I'm missing here? Every online article says to max out my voice/instrument skill and BAM, the musician option should be available.... Please help
