What's the point of Movement Speed?

I mean, I get that it allows you to get through dungeons and the like faster, but I spend far more time not having enough energy/badges/etc. to use than I do actually going through dungeons. Seems like a way pointless upgrade. Am I missing something? I wish they'd replace the items that increase this with some sort of consumable to increase capture rate.
