Coming out when in a opposite sex relationship

I've seen lots of posts on here about men telling their wife/girlfriend that they are bi but still happy and want to continue in their current relationship. I myself did the same.

I'm curious to know of those that have done this, did you ever really tell friends or family? Given that you're not exploring sex/dating with men did you ever feel like there was a "point" in telling people that don't need to know and will ultimately never find out
