I'm looking for tips on how not to get invested with hookups and FWBs. I'm a person that becomes easily invested in people, even if I've just met them. I don't know how to keep things casual. I don't think it's, necessarily, a problem, but it can be problematic.
The guy my wife and I have been seeing just "broke up" with us because the relationship was too emotional. He just got out of a five year relationship and wants to keep everything light. But he kept bringing things up and we just went where the conversation led. He also has trouble keeping things superficial, but I feel like they're scapegoating me for not being able to "out casual" his tendency to get invested too. She's as detached as they come.
Any advice on how not to care about someone that you genuinely like? 🫤
