by buff people. I guess there's some sort of crossfit tournament happening at the BJCC this weekend, and everywhere I looked while driving around downtown this afternoon had hordes of tattooed muscley folks. Not a complaint, just an observation.

I'm 65 and when I compete I sometimes do those 'fake' pull-ups. But I don't kip them, I butterfly them. It's a skill and fun to do once you learn it. It's a combination of gymnastics, timing and strength. They aren't easy. Strict pull-ups can also come up in some workouts. Those workouts won't let you butterfly or kip but require you do them strict. I can 10 strict pull-ups unbroken if the workout calls for it. Three different skills/ways to do pull-ups, depending on the workout.
