Remember the guy at the start of the year who was living out of his vehicle and asked if he could pay to sleep safely in someone’s driveway instead of on the city streets?
That was me, the pb&j guy.
Thanks to this community, I went from sleeping in a freezing vehicle on random streets to getting a job, a place to call my own, and a bed to finally sleep on again, all within the span of like 3-5 days. I don’t think I’ll ever again experience such a whirlwind as that, and every bit of it was heartfelt and greatly appreciated.
Part of the reason I came up to Bham at the start of the year with the handful of things I owned was because I felt like Bham, a legit city, would be a great place to try my business idea I’d been holding onto for a few years.
So, after a couple months of being here and being more or less settled in, I felt it was time to start the business. Since this community had been such a massive help to me before and since I’ve always taken to Reddit for organic and local answers to questions I have, I did the same here.
There’ve been some ups and down between then and now, including personal attacks. But no journey forward is without its challenges.
You all are a beautiful lot and I’m glad to have been able to meet some amazing people here. 🫶
Edit: my post has been edited from its original form, but the message is the same: it’s been a wild ride, and thank you all for the support. ❤️
