Once I get approval from the health dept (already got my Servsafe certifications), I’m gonna start selling high-quality ‘nut butter & fruit jelly/jam’ sandwiches. Question is, which flavors would y’all most want to try on a pb&j? I’ll list them a little further down.
I’ll be able to store a stock of 6 butters and 6 jellies/jams at a time, so I won’t be able to start out with the full 10 butter flavors and 10 jelly/jam flavors that I initially wanted to.
Some of the flavors will already be established, such as peanut butter, sunflower butter, grape jelly, and strawberry jam. So I need four more of each to be picked. The remaining are as follows:
Butters:
1) Almond 2) Cashew 3) Walnut 4) Pecan 5) Macadamia 6) Pistachio 7) Pumpkin seed
Jellies/Jams:
1) Pineapple 2) Blueberry 3) Raspberry 4) Blackberry 5) Peach 6) Cherry 7) Apple
Because cottage vendor laws don’t allow sales through third-party delivery services, I won’t be able to sell through doordash. But I will be able to pre-make sandwiches and sell them at a stand somewhere.
So once I’d be able to get all the stock prepared, I could take orders and make sandwiches catered to a customer’s preference and they could pick it up wherever I’ll be posted up for the day. It’s not the most convenient arrangement, I know; but I gotta start somewhere.
Because this is a grassroots operation, I’ll be juggling this alongside a day job, so the days I’ll be able to sell will be limited to my offs days (Sundays will always be available). I’ll make another post in the future about where would be best to set up a stand with a lot of foot traffic so as to be able to reach as many people as possible. And I could set up at different places each day instead of just one place all the time.
Thank you for your participation, and I hope to soon be able to provide you with the best and highest-quality pb&j sandwiches you’ve ever had. =)
Edit: Note, while starting out, I will be using the wide-loaf Loven wheat bread from Aldi. I would get their multigrain instead, as I love it’s texture, but it has seeds in it which some may be allergic to. So it’ll be best, simplest, and cheapest to start out with just one type of bread. The main star(s) of the show will be what’s in the sandwich lol.
Edit 2: Polling is officially closed. Thank you to all for participating!
