I’m getting close to pulling the trigger on starting a business making homemade nut butters and fruit jams that are unparalleled in quality, and I’m looking to get a gauge for the local community’s interest in this.
I’ve heard Bham is a foodie town, and I think nut butters and jams could work well here.
I’ve found a way to make nut butters that are smoother than the tongue can physically detect (nuts can be added back in for those who prefer ‘crunchy’ nut butters). They will also start from raw and organic nuts and be naturally processed in a way so as to maximize the nutritional yield, making these butters as nutritionally-available as possible.
It’ll be a few weeks or so before I could start selling jars, and it will just be peanut butter to start with (I’m having to finance this myself for now), but I’ll expand to other nuts as funding improves. Then later, once the equipment can be afforded, I’ll begin making jams in such a way that you’d have to break the laws of physics to make a better batch of jam. But the butters will be cheaper to make first, so that’s where I’m starting.
The first product, peanut butter, will be sold in 16oz (1 lb) glass jars at $8 per jar. That’s 16oz Net btw, so not including the weight of the jar. It’ll be a full pound of peanut butter.
But yeah, just wanna see who many people here would be interested in this. Later on down the road, I’d be offering far more varieties of nut butters as well as jams.
This is something I’ve been wanting to get up and running for a while now, and it seems the time is finally looking right to get it started.
Thank you for any and all feedback.
