Been getting settled in after having moved to a new city/new apt, and I downloaded tinder and hinge. But it’d be nice if I could get to know someone outside of those apps. I’ve tried reddit dating before, but historically there didn’t usually seem to be many people on there from AL, let alone Bham.

I’ve heard some women here say they’d like to find a progressive, non-conservative man. Well, that’d be me lol. I’m also big on honesty and integrity, as well as good communication (which I personally feel is the foundation to a lifelong love).

So, if not on Reddit, where would be the best place [outside of the apps] to find someone and get to know them?

I’m 32, and I can honestly be a bit of a chameleon for my partner in regards to interests. If I’m single and bored, I’ll probably just find something to do/watch at home; but I wouldn’t mind going out and doing something with someone. I’m not the biggest fan of large crowds, but I think that would mainly just be confided to things like large festivals, where “shoulder to shoulder” contact is frequent. Other than that, I don’t mind large crowds provided I have decent personal space to work with. I’m big into movies and games (board games or video games) and I love intellectual conversations. I’m a bit of a nerd in certain respects, so it’d be nice to meet someone who would enjoy that type of conversation style sometimes. I’m also big into music. I used to play and write, but nowadays I just sing most of the time (I’m the type who would love to be able to privately serenade my partner, cheesy and hokey as that may sound lol).
