Birkenstock milano bold

I just ordered the milano bold in roast natural leather for my husband to use it in a trip next month.
We will stay in a resort in a tropical island, do you think it will stand the sand/wet floors and what not? I didn't think it through🤦♀️ I also hope that its slip proof💔 Should I return it and get something else? What would you recommend
