Been with my girlfriend about a year now. She had a huge episode that lasted a month and now she's having another. I never knew she had it but I pieced it together and confronted her about it. She's on medication but I do not think it's working or she's not taking it. We are long distance due to her wanting to remain where she is because of her family.
We are polyamorous. So when she has her episode I tend to just focus more on myself and my other girlfriend.
She's cursing at me left and right. Calling all sorts of things. It is literally night and day with her. She's sweet, loves me, and talks about our future together when she's not talking about shit that makes no sense. It's her mania and I know that now.
Her recent episode has me worried about her self care. I booked a flight two weeks from now, hoping her mania was more tolerant of my existence. I want to purely go there and make sure she's fed and I can help her clean up her place. Do laundry etc.
Is that ok to do? I mean I feel our normal relationship is close enough and she has no issues, but her manic side is extreme. She blocks me on everything.
I know it's risky since she hates me again, but I know this is her mania. I want to help take care of her or at least make sure she's actually ok.
Any words and or advice? Should I not do this? I'd rather not make things worse. I asked her family and they're supportive of me going, but I also know they don't know much about bipolar. My girlfriend was only diagnosed in her 30s. So she was definitely not with family after diagnosis.
Lol I need help. Advice!
