To start with, your BPSO is responsible for their medication and if they don’t want the medicine, you can’t really make them take it.
I’m bipolar and I can’t imagine going off my medication. My wife keeps track of my medication just as much (if not more than) I do because I’ve asked her to help.
It seems that (almost) every horror story starts with the BPSO going off their meds or not being medicated in the first place. I’m asking here because I’d rather hear your perspective than the possible delusional posts on the other Bipolar subs.
EDIT: Fat thumb - I meant BPSO.
My wife just gets tired of taking meds. She has never quit taking them but talks about the desire to get off them one day.
I've heard weight gain, depression, feeling numb, loss of sexual desire etc.
Good work out of you for staying on the path. I'm proud of you!
