Today my psychiatrist said to me, "You have taught me so much about mental health." The guy is an amazing psychiatrist and has been doing the job for over two decades, working with both inpatient and outpatient populations. He has mentioned before that my illness presentation is unusual, but his comment today left me feeling a bit perplexed haha.
I would love to hear comments that you have gotten from medical professionals that left you wondering, "Hm, how exactly should I take that?" Or even, "WTF?". Not necessarily bad comments, just ones that are unexpected/out of left field.
âYour diagnosis doesnât matter. We are just going to treat the symptomsâ after confirming bipolar on my chart going back over 7 years at the same clinic. Lol Iâm glad sheâs more open minded with the meds than the last one but I was like âwhaaaat?â. Maybe she thinks I donât know about the âcluster bâ diagnosis on my chart, but someone else already told me accidentally so Iâm fully aware thatâs what she probably meant.
